It’s always nice to go for a facial whether it’s simply just treating ourselves or to improve a skin concern. Talking of skin concerns…rich complexions mainly struggle with hyperpigmentation, discoloration and sometimes photoaging. This is 1 of 3 treatments in the facial series, that is melanin-rich skin-friendly and tackles pigmentation concerns. Today we are having a Microneedling Facial!
What Is Microneedling?
It’s a mechanical procedure, using a microneedling device/pen containing 12 ultra-fine sterile needles. The needles are simply injected into the skin (at an adjusted speed and depth depending on the skin condition) which leads to the formation of small punctures and light superficial bleeding. The pain experienced is of a very low level as the needles only prick the layers of the skin. In the case of a client who has a very low pain threshold, they can make use of the numbing cream.
How Does Microneedling Work?
The small channels created by the needles are like micro-wounds. Just as every wound sets the healing process of the body into motion, these tiny injuries also stimulate the collagen and elastin formation process of the dermis layer of skin. This treatment is a way of reminding the body to reboot the collagen and elastin production process, which then leads to the formation of new and healthier layers of skin cells that is thicker and plumper than ever before.
What Results Does Microneedling Give?
This treatment is amazing, as it can tackle a variety of skin concerns. It can help to remove dark spots, lighten hyperpigmentation, lighten melasma, lighten discoloration, reduces enlarged pores, remove surface scarring, fine wrinkles, deep wrinkles, acne scars, dark circles and bags under the eyes. Overall, the facial skin becomes more firm and smooth giving you a youthful appearance.
Is Microneedling Safe For Rich Complexions?
Yes, it is safe for melanin-rich skin, all skin types and skin tones. It has a very low recovery time, a chemical-free process, increases the absorption capacity of the skin, can be used on any body part, solves all facial problems within 3 to 6 months, does not have any side effects and harnesses the natural healing ability of the body
Is Microneedling worth it?
It most certainly is! This treats most skin concerns that we face. It reverses signs of aging and lightens all forms of pigmentation. We need to understand results may vary depending on the severity. Most of all, we must wear sunscreen..(especially if you’ve paid for an expensive and life-changing treatment). There is no point in treating pigmentation if we are not protecting our skin. An SPF provides a shield against UV damage and increased pigmentation. It only makes sense to use it every day to protect our rich complexions.
